William Wayne White

October 27, 1927 ~ April 16, 2018 (age 90)

 

William Wayne White, 90, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018. He was born October 27, 1927, to Colon Ezra and Vasta Beatrice White. Wayne drove a gas truck for Gulf Farm delivery and then worked for Emerson until retiring after 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. In his spare time, Wayne loved to go hunting and fishing and enjoyed gardening as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rava Nell White; infant grandson, Michael Wayne Golden; brothers, Murrel, Paul, Loran, and Darrell White; and sister, Cora Mac Dowler.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Bonita Ardelia Edgin of Paragould, Barbara Diane and Mike Robinson of Oak Grove; grandchildren, Kristian Lee Davenport and Mattie Elizabeth Robinson; and great-grandchild, Nataly Rene Edgin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, from 11 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Rick Hudson and Mike Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers include Dennis White, Danny White, Rick White, David White, Harvey Stokes, and Wayne Jackson. Honorary pallbearers include Tom Schumecker and the men of New Liberty Baptist Church.
