ROGERS - GEORGE W

ROGERS - George W. Rogers was born in Marion County, Tenn. in 1843, and removed with his father to Arkansas in 1859; was married to Millie Howard of Lawrence County, and died in Sharp County March 11, 1890. He professed faith in Christ in 1860 under the ministry of the laments Ben Hall, and united with the M.E. Church, South, and lived a useful life until death. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn their loss. Bro. Rogers was as untiring worker in the Church, serving the Church as steward and class-leader and Sunday School superintendant. The last named was his delight. He is greatly missed in the community and Church. Besides his own family he leaves five brothers and three sisters. May they courageously follow the counsel and example of their loved one until they become as unbroken family in heaven. May they, like him, be faithful to their stewardship until Christ shall say, wel done, good and faithful stewards.J. R. Edwards
